Following our sweaty debut at Market Hotel in January, we're psyched to bring the center booth back to Myrtle-Broadway. For our second party of the year, we’ve tapped a local legend, an international heavyweight, and an emerging talent to join us. 

Headliner Anthony Parasole is widely considered Brooklyn techno royalty. A fixture of the NY scene for the past twenty years via his work as a record store buyer, label boss, producer and DJ, the former Berghain resident draws from the rawest, deepest corners of house and techno and joins the dots between them in consistently inventive and thrilling ways. 

Herrensauna co-founder MCMLXXXV has developed the notorious Berlin party series into an international powerhouse. Much of the draw lies within his own high-octane sets that balance pummelling beats with trancey euphoria, leaving crowds breathless and ecstatic. 

Also stepping up for us is Boston’s Annie Lew. The Infra resident and BASEMENT favourite continues her ascent in the techno world equipped with kinetic, breakbeat-spiked sets that keep energy levels rolling high, and us on our toes.

Berlin-based DJ, Cryptofauna steps into the booth this week, tip-toeing her prowess in both digital and vinyl mixing in our very first hybrid set on CENTER BOOTH. Fresh off of a rowdy showcase night at Nowadays with the Dissident crew, she brings us a selection of records she found while perusing shops like A1 and Boom Service in New York, alongside some staple tracks on her USB. It's a thrilling ride to watch her joyfully balance the two mediums.

In Europe she's performed in many of the most notable techno clubs, including Tresor and RSO in Berlin, Club RAUM and POING in Rotterdam, and FVTVR in Paris. She also DJ's alongside Eddie Ness as Epikur, where they are a resident duo at Hamburg club PAL. We're lucky to catch her for the broadcast during a very special trip to NYC. Lock in for a euphoric journey through turn-of-the-century techno by one of Berlin's most exciting up-and-coming artists.

Our fourth guest, Auspex organizes the queer party ALTÆR, coming up on 5 years of debauchery at BASEMENT, and runs Oath label as an outlet for his production since 2019. His sound is distinctly haunting, while on the dancefloor he is the first to offer a warm smile.

We recorded this season of CENTER BOOTH on the big sound system from our rave in September, and when we didn’t turn the master down, Auspex shook the building for an hour straight. We had to make a couple apologies to our neighbors.

Auspex is one of the artists who maintain the Brooklyn-Berlin connection, and his selection here represents a signature performance of this hypnotic sound that moves dark, sweaty dancefloors.

No longer lit by the bright ambient light of our CDJ's, this week on CENTER BOOTH we plunge into the dark abyss for our very first live hardware set, and who better to break us in than the legendary Providence-based artist Isabella Koen, a veritable mastermind of the craft. Not only is she known for her crushing live sets in clubs around the world, including at Basement and Nowadays here in New York, Tresor and Draaimolen Festival abroad, just to name a few, she's also a literal Professor of Electronic Production and Design at the esteemed Berklee College of Music in Boston. And if that wasn't enough hats to wear, she's also set to open a new listening bar called Piccolo in Providence, bringing further richness to a city already brimming with talent and creativity. 

For her set at CENTER BOOTH, she works with a rather concise sibling-setup of an Elektron Octatrack mk1 and an Elektron Rytm mk2, utilizing a diverse range of propulsive programmed rhythms to wade through thick sonic sludge. The result is a powerful, triumphant sound that never fails to throw crowds into a frenzy. We're in awe of this one, totally confounded by her unique ability to weave together an intricate array of dissonant sounds and somehow make it make complete and utter sense. The experience of seeing it in person is baffling and heroic, garnering a response that is both guttural and genuine. It's an honor to have her grace our stage, and to give you a taste of this inimitable East Coast artist.

Rabit is a Houston legend, underground king, Halcyon Veil label-founder, and critically acclaimed producer, who has previously released with Björk, Arca and Tri Angle Records.

Rabit seems like a character who just stepped out of a Harmony Korine movie — and this grungy fuck you aesthetic shines through in his CENTER BOOTH performance. He opens with 6 minutes of crackling and howling void, before echoing in ‘Moments in Love’ by Art of Noise. Throughout, subtly chopped classics like Yung Joc’s ‘It’s Goin’ Down’ unravel into melodic samples, ranging as far as Nirvana’s ‘Heart Shaped Box’ before ultimately collapsing into Armand’s Dark Garage Mix of ‘Spin Spin Sugar’ by the Sneaker Pimps, notably one of the few dance tracks of the hour.

Rabit’s set is a masterclass in vocal and melody layering across genres, building tension and only ever releasing us briefly and into the unexpected.

We're crossing off yet another first for CENTER BOOTH this week, this time with LA's finest vinyl enthusiast, 1morning. Truthfully, we didn't even have turntables when we asked him to play. We snagged a set of Technics off of Marketplace just to make this one happen, with zero regrets. As expected, he puts our booth to work– scattering records around the ring and dialing in a slick and seductive hour of fresh, House-tinged Techno. 

A rising star on the international stage, 1morning (born Amir Karneh) remains a beloved fixture in the American underground, bridging gaps between generations and distant localities through his love for snappy, turn of the century Techno. In 2023 he made the switch to DJ strictly with vinyl, and it's not hard to see why after watching the passion on display in this episode. In his CENTER BOOTH mix, he pulls out classic gems from the Umek alias Mumps, solid staples from DJ Rush, and others from Trevor Rockcliffe that showcase his more recent flirtation with the ambiguous edges of Tech House. 

It's almost pointless to list his extensive accolades here; he's been everywhere and back in the last couple of years, but after an absolutely show-stopping set at Nowadays Nonstop last month, it's safe to say that Amir's hot streak isn't letting up any time soon.

Continuing this season of white-hot CENTER BOOTH sets is Brooklyn's own KYRUH, a much-loved local talent with an ever-growing international fanbase.

Four years into her DJ career, KYRUH’s development as an artist is palpable. These days, the New York native commands crowds across North America and Europe with considerable confidence, in part from the myriad of experiences and opportunities that have come her way. She even got tapped to do a Kelela remix!

Whether she's DJing at Brooklyn clubs such as Paragon (RIP), Bossa Nova Civic Club, Nowadays or BASEMENT (where she's practically a resident), further afield at RSO Berlin, Thuishaven, Renate and Khidi, sharing the decks with regular collaborator WTCHCRFT as Madness Of, or supporting the biggest names in techno including Jeff Mills, DJ Stingray 313, DJ Pierre and DVS1, KYRUH leaves a memorable impression with her distinctive and increasingly sophisticated style. She tends to play stormy and speedy, but with a fondness for groove and long blends, aiming to move hips and rinse minds at the same time.

Her CENTER BOOTH set exhibits all the markers of her growth, opening with a disorienting passage that sounds like a malfunctioning machine while keeping time with the beat. Next comes a rush of noteworthy transitions as tribal drumming gives way to hypnotic loops into horn-led beats. It's a mostly smooth but always compelling ride from there on in, dark but nimble, paced to perfection, and effectively designed to induce a trance-like state. We’re launching this video series to platform emerging and veteran artists, playing from the booth that sits in the center of the floor at our raves. Season 1 was shot during an intimate two-day New York Fashion Week pop-up, where we showed prototypes of our debut collection.

Our first contributor is Sausha, a NYC-based/Colombia-born DJ, combining her glowing Latin roots with charged-up, layered techno sound in an eclectic sultry dance.

Stepping up to the CENTER BOOTH for episode 5 and closing our first season is Brooklyn’s own Speedy Spice.

A longtime favorite of the NY community, Speedy has played all over the city, from BASEMENT to Rash to Good Room to Bossa, made international appearances at Berlin’s OXI and Mexico City’s Community Club, and supported the likes of Etapp Kyle, Matrixxman, Katie Rex and Wallis.

Her considered, enveloping sets span the spectrum of techno, from austere and unrelenting to trance-driven, melodic and acid-drenched. Here, she explores the sleazier side of her sound, front-loading with dirty dicktease electro (“Boys” by TAALIAH) and the even more explicit “Wir Suchen Dich” from the aptly named Croatian hitmaker Only Fire (who also pops up later on “HARD 2.0” with River Moon). The mix maintains this cheeky, playful energy throughout, incorporating lashings of trance and acid without ever letting up on the heat. Bassiani-resident DJ/producer Yanamaste and French underground artist H. Mess take the tail end of the set into trippier territory before VTSS and Shygirl collaborate on the infectious, anthemic closer.

Speedy Spice in name and in nature, her CENTER BOOTH debut left us hot, weak, and wanting more. If you feel the same, watch out for season 2 kicking off next month.

Daniel Leyva, better known as Word of Command, has spent almost a decade building out one of NYC’s most beloved techno nights, FIST (Fun Is Still Transgressive). Having just celebrated its 9th birthday at BASEMENT last month (where the party has held a residency since 2019), FIST’s longevity is due in no small part to Leyva’s commitment to fostering a space for queer-oriented techno in New York to flourish, long before the approach rose to such prominence in the city. 

Since 2021, Leyva has helmed a monthly radio slot on NTS, all the while collecting bookings across New York, the US, and, as FIST and its founder attract increasing attention overseas, at some of the world’s leading clubs including Razzamatazz, Tresor and RSO.BERLIN. The Cuban-American Leyva, who recently moved from Brooklyn to Paris, recorded his CENTER BOOTH set while back in New York for FIST’s birthday bash three weeks ago. Accustomed to taking the opening slot at his own parties, Leyva took the opportunity to play harder and faster than he typically might, peppering his set with left-field bangers and stylistic curveballs designed to shock the listener out of the standard 4/4 experience. Expect choppy drum & bass/psytrance hybrids, rave incantations in foreign languages, hardcore/trance freakouts, brain-melting amelodic techno and other unexpected delights. Included are two tracks from the just-released debut FIST compilation: krow’s “Tilt”, a tough, crunchy percussive tool, and Hugo Mesi’s aptly titled “Distended Mindbender”. Fun, perfectly paced and brimming with bold selections, Leyva's CENTER BOOTH recreates the sweaty energy of a peak-time pummelling at FIST.

We’re excited to drop the second installment of CENTER BOOTH. Taking over the warehouse this time is Memphy — a fashion icon and quintessential downtown kid turned skilled DJ. With deep roots in the NYC techno scene, she’s bridging the glamour of magazine covers and energy of underground clubs.

Laying it down at 146bpm, Memphy delivers a synth-heavy selection of precisely sculpted sounds that feel distinctly post-SOPHIE to us. Her ultra-bouncy, syncopated beats, topped with juicy moans and beefy F1 engine roars, bring heat to the eardrums.

For this week’s episode of CENTER BOOTH we’re delighted to share a start-to-finish thrill ride from one of the most exciting artists working today: estoc. The Philadelphia-based DJ and producer is well known for her dazzling, highly inventive sets, intricate, compelling releases spanning the gamut of genres, startling, often hilarious mash-ups and edits, and uncompromising politics that are the lifeblood of her art.

Her visceral, take no prisoners approach to DJing has seen her summoned to play transgressive techno parties all over the US, Europe, the UK, Asia and Australia, while her latest LP, Are We Doomed To Bow Down To The Stupid And Cruel? is a growling, guttural response to fascism, colonization and other craven ideologies.

Her CENTER BOOTH set, which plays in a live and compositional fashion, comes from that same place of staunch resistance, both a source of release and fuel for the ongoing fight. It’s hypnotic not in its repetition but in its restlessness, a disorienting rollercoaster of cacophony, distortion and aggressive melodies.

The effect is something like strapping in for a full throttle VR experience, a quest soundtracked by creepy pads, all manner of belligerent percussion, itchy snares and the full kitchen sink of FX. Featured artists include DJ Plead, WTCHCRFT, Dave Quam, estoc herself on remix duties, and the Prodigy, overlaid with extra thundering drums. We’d call it a masterclass but estoc is an artist who simply can’t be imitated.

For the fifth instalment of CENTER BOOTH’s second series, Brooklyn techno darling Concrete Husband extracts the communally felt frustration with modern society’s various ills and distills them into a purgative blend of fury and release.

The artist born Carlos Aguilar is a conservatory trained musician and composer whose credits include touring with Eartheater (as a flutist), scoring Dion Lee’s Shanghai Fashion Week show and providing the flute music for the A24 Ari Aster film Beau Is Afraid. He only turned to DJing and techno production during the pandemic, but five years later he became one of the most beloved figures in the New York scene; a BASEMENT and Bossa Nova Civic Club fixture and regular booking at forward-thinking parties such as MERGE and OOZE. In the same period, he’s also managed to put out a steady stream of atypical, highly refined productions, culminating in the release of his debut experimental/techno album Piel last year.

We're thrilled to host the multi-talented Aguilar at CENTER BOOTH, where a snippet from a James Baldwin speech about Western greed sets the tone for the full mind-and-body cleanse that follows. Early on, an excerpt from an ambient score that Aguilar composed for a friend’s short horror film reflects the unease currently felt by so many of us, an emotion sustained throughout the set as Aguilar oscillates between confronting our shared anxieties and providing intense somatic and cerebral respite. Tones are dissonant, melodies are off-kilter and the energy is unrelentingly dark and oppressive, qualities that direct the listener inwards to achieve deep, holistic catharsis. Strap in for a set that plays out like a psychological thriller, where narrative ebbs and flows are heightened by a delicious, knife’s-edge tension and the promise of a visceral payoff.

Kicking off a stacked CENTER BOOTH Season 2 is the Porto-raised, Berlin-based Mau Ventura, better known to techno fans as DJ Saliva. Founder of the long-running Porto queer-centered party series Arena Spa Superiora, Ventura is also a resident DJ and label manager at Herrensauna and an accomplished visual artist whose work spans painting, sculpture, installation and performance. They have played at world-leading venues and festivals including BASEMENT, Tresor, Nuits Sonores, Body Movements, Bassiani and RSO Berlin, sometimes B2Bing with crew mates such as CEM and Salome with electrifying results. We’re thrilled to have them grace CENTER BOOTH with this enigmatic, eclectic set brimming with energy and texture.

Across 65 compelling minutes, DJ Saliva dips in and out of genres and styles including gothy, plangent techno, subterranean acid, wiggly tech-house, psychedelic IDM, and Carribean rhythms. The mixing is mostly fast, loose, and unsuspecting, whether they are dropping dancehall into springy, electrifying techno, chasing Karenn’s gnarly “Crush The Mushrooms” with glowy braindance, or breaking up Latin percussion with ravey psytrance. There are moments of tension throughout, an admirable amount of risk-taking, and an experimental quality to the set that makes it feel as though DJ Saliva is taking the trip alongside you, guided by their fervent curiousity, and always landing somewhere slick (the electro-grunge Garbage closer is chef’s kiss).

For the fifth episode, we’re super excited to have Vyper at the decks. Born in Brooklyn, Vyper started DJing about 6 years ago and has since established an iconic position across local scenes and genres. But versatility and innovation is confusing to some. Calling out how she sometimes feels misunderstood and underrated, this mix demonstrates the power of her signature sound, which she refers to as ‘techno hardcore’ – delivering a ton of energy and eclecticism in conjunction with rolling and hypnotic tracks that draw you in deep.

Lock in for an hour-long sonic journey that bounces through cute, acid drenched plains, sweaty and stompy peaks, and relentlessly slapping sprints.

Together with her partner Stealthy, they run the collective Uklon which links them to the scenes in Berlin and Kyiv. Their recently-launched label Klon Trax has been pouring out a stream of high energy bangers over just a few months. As a platform, the label allows Vyper to hone in on her sound as a producer while pushing boundaries and channeling the ethos of hardcore for our current moment - extreme times call for extreme feeling states to be accessed and released.

This episode is extra special for us, because Vyper has been with LETTONNE from the start. We spoke when she first decided to go all in as a DJ, then she showed up for all our parties, recorded one of the first sets we released on Soundcloud… and if you order a purse from us these days, it comes in a dust bag with her on it.

Brooklyn’s KXAH steps up for the 4th episode of our second series, delivering one of the most stylistically cohesive sets to grace the Lettonne stage yet. Born in St. Petersburg, with roots in Ukraine, KXAH cut her teeth with Boston’s Infra collective, quickly settling into a style that prioritises textures, distortion, prickly ambience and brain-rinsing percussion, a sound which is perfectly at home in New York.

In 2022 she co-founded the Boston-based Aversion record label and party series, a genreless exploration of sensory focused music and events, like the experimental rave held in a fighting gym called "Fighters Not Lovers". A trained dancer, KXAH’s finely tuned instinct for what makes bodies move has endeared her to crowds all over New York, including at Basement, Paragon, Bossa Nova Civic Club, and H0l0, as well as Leland City Club in Detroit and Domicile in Miami, just to name a few.

The intensity level in KXAH’s CENTER BOOTH set is a touch different from what we’re used to hearing her play in those dark, sweaty rooms. A slow-building journey from the start, her dense rhythms are stitched together so neatly that the set seems to unspool as if it's one long track. Its energy gradually becomes more urgent, with layers of synths that spring forth like rubber bands and literal bells and whistles, fomenting images of cars being assembled on the factory line. When shimmering synths appear and then multiply mid-set, the effect is of a single star tracing the night sky, and then; constellations. Stepping up for the second installment of CENTER BOOTH Season 2 is rising New York talent DREAM, an enigmatic DJ who eschews the cold austerity of traditional techno in favor of more colorful, celebratory sounds. Growing up in Miami on a diet of bass, electro and Latin groove clearly made its mark on DREAM, whose spicy techno sets mimic the thrilling unpredictability of a great night out.

After high school, DREAM moved to New York to pursue a career as a model, a job that has taken him all over the world working for high-profile clients such as Off-White, UNKNWN and Another Man. In recent years, however, he’s been leaning into his long-held passion for electronic music, picking up DJing in 2021 at the encouragement of his friend and mentor Ultrathem, a trailblazer in the queer Miami techno scene. Within a few months, DREAM had been booked to play Stamina at Art Basel with the likes of DVS1, Freddy K and Volvox, then began to take New York by storm, playing everywhere from Bossa Nova Civic Club, H0L0 and Mood Ring to Paragon and Elsewhere.

His edgy, flair-filled CENTER BOOTH entry is an exercise in controlled chaos, regularly teasing tracks and genres before taking off in an entirely different direction. The warmup section sets the mood, a mercurial twenty minutes of chilly, slowed-down trance, futuristic techno, Eurodance, chopped up vocal house and tweaked club classics. Thereafter, energy levels are kept at a constant high as DREAM cycles through dirty electro, propulsive, driving techno and raunchy club cuts, serving up an upbeat, hedonistic assortment of sounds that plays perfectly as we descend into a steamy summer.
